Landlords are legally responsible for the safety of their tenants. You must keep a record of each safety inspection and make sure your tenants are regularly informed.

Landlords must provide an EICR (electrical installation condition report) for all new tenancies from the 1st July. This applies if you are a private, housing association or council tenant.
